APS Reaches the State of Minnesota
Shakopee, Minnesota- Over 30 students from Shakopee and Minneapolis, Minnesota attended an "Importance of Education" workshop this past December 20th, 2008. Presented by the Higher Education Program, the workshop is the first Association of Professionals and Students (APS) event to be presented in the state of Minnesota.
Students eagerly gathered on Saturday morning to watch an introductory video of the APS organization. Presenter Cesia Minemann, coordinator of the Higher Education Program, spoke to students about the organization's inception and extensive social service work and encouraged the students to work alongside APS within their own state.
Afterwards, presenters Cesia and Madai Minemann conducted a college preparation workshop and answered student's questions regarding the college application process. In keeping with APS's mission, students were encouraged to pursue a higher education and to put that profession at the service of their community.
APS is proud to continue expanding its work and promoting higher education to underserved communities throughout the United States.
