“La Voz del Mañana” (The Futures Voice) is a community-based radio program that the
Association of Professionals and Students (APS), a non-profit organization, has used to
further its mission. APS’ mission is to provide social and educational programs that will
empower low-income communities.
Our program allows students interested in developing a career in multi-media and radio
broadcasting gain valuable experience while at the same time provide a valuable service
to their community.
This one hour show is broadcasted throughout all Los Angeles County every Friday night
from 9pm to 10pm. The hosts and their invitees are professionals and/or students who
are active members of their respective communities, many of whom are active
members of APS’ committees. Although the speakers are mainly APS members there
are also invited guests who take part in the discussions.
Topics discussed include:
Information on Diabetes
Immigration know your rights
Student loans
The importance of parent’s involvement
Taxes
And many more relevant topics impacting our communities
The program also includes a segment on cultural and social community events occurring
during the weekend, to promote quality family time. Since APS understands that today’s
students are the future leaders of our community, the radio show “La Voz del Mañana”
is an outlet to motivate and empower the community and its students.
